UNISON branches are grouped into 12 regions which cover the United Kingdom. Each region has its own head office and a regional council made up of delegates from all branches in the region. The regional council develops policies and puts them into action regionally. It is the main link between neighbouring branches and between branches and the national executive committee.
Greater London Regional Council
The regional higher education committee is composed of representatives from all branches within the higher education service group, along with national representatives. The committee co-ordinates branch activity across the higher education service group, strives to develop and implement a region-side strategy for the service and represents the group’s interests at regional and national level as appropriate.
Regional Higher Education Committee
Max Watson is also elected to the Higher Education general seat on the National Executive Council. The NEC is elected by members to speak on their behalf.
