In an email to all staff you recently asked us to make suggestions on how to make savings at London Met.
We have just been told that you currently spend £1M per year on bonus schemes for senior managers. For us support staff, however, £100K is spent on ‘Merit Awards’.
You recently closed the nursery because you said you couldn’t afford to keep it open. Further cuts are talked about every day.
Do you recognise that such bonuses in the current climate for already well paid managers is unsustainable, unjustifiable and frankly obscene?
